* Slither *

Edward Lee’s Slither.

Gulped down another fascinating read yet again! This book took me by storm and I devoured it every chance I got. Slither is a part of the Horror genre and if you enjoy Horror, this’ll be your cup of tea! The jest is there’s an embarkment set out on an island in Florida with a team of two worm enthusiasts, a ditsy blond/poser photographer, the head scientist, a trio of rednecks, some gators, grotesque larvae and worms that grow so fast your head will spin! Just when you think it can’t get any more detailed and disgusting…it does!
I noticed a parallel with one of my fav authors, Carl Hiassen. Lee uses satirical carnage and revenge and make your stomach turn while you chuckle. I’d say that’s quite an accomplishment.
I did hit a speed bump towards the end, but in spite of this, I had to read to see just how the story would wrap up. And it was worth it! I loved the ending and it didn’t leave unanswered questions…just the way a book should end. :) Another Must-Read!

Excerpts:
pg. 245 – she skimmed by more clumps of coral, and there it was: the darkening decline…Nora stared through the prism of her mask. The arrangement of flesh and bones lay before her almost as if it expected her. Scraps of fabric around he hips indicated shorts too skimpy for a man, and another band of fabric about he rib cage was clearing a bikini top. … Eyeless sockets looked back at her, and something like a grin struggle through the waxen swollen traces of flesh around the mouth. White teeth glimmered through. A flap of while skin floated off the chest, darkened by the circle of a nipple. … Bones were all that remained of the feet, and off the femur and skins, more white flesh wobbled like jelly.

~ Love’n You ~

July 2, 2008 at 7:11 am (My Words) (, , )

You reminded me that we’re soulmates before but today it reached my heart. You know it and have for the longest time. I see and feel it in my heart and soul.
Whenever i’m down you know the words and touch to bring me up and to make me smile.
I fit so perfect in your arms and love to taste your every kiss.
I can never get enough of your kisses – each one is new and gets even better.
Somehow, someway you find it in you to accept and adore all my qwirky imperfections.
AND everytime I gaze down at my hand – I am reminded of you and your love for me and the hope in our future.
I don’t know how I got so lucky to have you, but I did. I lost you once, now I have you back and i’ll never let you go again.
~ I love you ~
